Joe Garrett

Joe has more than 15 years of experience in the financial investment industry. He holds Series 7, 63, 65 and 24 registrations with LPL Financial. His Series 24 registration, General Securities Principal, allows him to supervise other financial professionals. Additionally, Joe specializes in insurance planning and risk management. As one of the Chief Investment Strategists for Garrett & Robinson, he brings his unparalleled knowledge of all facets of financial planning to the forefront. His expertise in Retirement Planning, Asset Management, Estate Planning, and Financial Planning provide clients, both individuals and businesses, with a sound and thoughtful future.

Joe, a husband and father of four boys, is a dedicated family man who’s active in his community and enjoys serving several local and national charities and nonprofit organizations, both as part of the mission at Garrett & Robinson and on his own. While at the University of Georgia in the 1980s, he held leadership positions and continues to be active in the University of Georgia Alumni Association. He’s a past president of the Carroll County Sertoma Club, an organization that provides outreach to local charities and an annual Drug Awareness Day that teaches the area’s fourth graders about the dangers of drugs. Joe’s also an active member of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, where he serves as a Lay Reader, Sunday school teacher and outreach volunteer. He’s also a member and past Board of Director of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce.

Joe’s family has been serving the financial needs of citizens in the West Georgia area for more than 50 years. His father, Jimmy Garrett, recently retired from a 50-year career as one of the founders of Carroll County’s largest CPA firms, Garrett, Stephens, Thomas and Fazio.

Joe’s goal for Garrett & Robinson is to provide world class service and results through vision and experience while building trusting personal relationships with his clients.

Clay Robinson

With more than 20 years in the investment industry, Clay’s experience includes wealth management for successful executives, business owners and affluent individuals.

Clay began his career as an investment representative with Interstate/Johnson Lane, where he remained for several years. Before forming Garrett & Robinson, he managed the investment program for Synovous Securities at CB&T Bank in Carrollton, Ga., which he built into a successful practice and managed for almost 12 years.

Clay holds Series 7, 63, and 65 registrations with LPL Financial. He also has an insurance and annuity license. Furthermore, he is licensed in insurance specializing in life and long term care.

As one of the Chief Strategists for Garrett & Robinson, Clay brings his consummate expertise of technical analysis to all facets of the investment management process.

A lifelong resident of Carrollton, Clay attended Oak Mountain Academy, Carrollton High School, and graduated from Darlington School in Rome. Clay went on to graduate with a BA in Economics from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia.

Clay is married to the former Dana Whitaker and together they have four children. They are active members of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church.

\When not working, you can find Clay fishing, hunting, or coaching one of the many Garrett & Robinson sponsored recreation teams.

Frank E. Deems, III
Frank E. Deems, IIIFinancial Consultant
Frank Deems has more than 40 years of experience in the financial and accounting fields and serves as a financial consultant for Garrett & Robinson.

Prior to joining Garrett & Robinson, he spent 10 years as a financial advisor at UBS Financial Services in Atlanta where he specialized in individual retirement planning, investment management, foundations and endowments, and business retirement plans.

Prior to joining UBS, he was Vice President of Finance at Southwire Company in Carrollton where he was responsible for all financial planning, treasury, risk management, accounting and tax matters as well as the company’s medical benefits and retirement plans.

Frank received a BBA in Accounting in 1974 and an MBA in 1981 from the University of West Georgia. During his tenure at Southwire Company, he occasionally served as an instructor of undergraduate corporate finance courses at the University of West Georgia.

Deems and his wife, Katie, reside in Carrollton. They have one son, Ryan (34), and one daughter, Lauren (29).

Tyler Sabo

Tyler entered the financial industry in 2007 after beginning his professional career in media relations. At Garrett & Robinson, if we consider Joe, Clay and Frank the builders of Your Financial House, then Tyler is your architect.

He begins by learning firsthand about your current state of affairs and your personal vision for the future. He personally attends to knowing as much as he can about you and your life so he can draw the blueprints to assist Your Financial House. Furthermore, he has been trained, mentored and coached by one of the most successful financial planners in the country, Greg Powell, who was inducted into Research Magazine’s Advisor Hall of Fame in 2002.

Tyler received his B.S. in Education from the University of Georgia. Through LPL Financial, he holds the Series 7, Series 63 and Series 65 registrations. He’s also licensed in Georgia for Life, Accident and Sickness insurance.

While in Athens, Tyler worked as a sports communications assistant for many of the University of Georgia’s nationally-ranked athletic programs. During his 10-year stint in the UGA athletic department, he orchestrated the day-to-day publicity for several of Georgia’s sports programs that captured 18 NCAA national championships and 32 Southeastern Conference titles. Additionally, he wrote, edited and produced media guides and game programs for the UGA football, gymnastics, softball, and volleyball teams.

Tyler is married to the former Kristen Peek, who is in her 14th year of teaching and her ninth at Carrollton Junior High School. The couple has two children, Jacelyn Elizabeth (6/4/07) and Tyler Fuller (12/28/08).

Alison Wallace
Alison WallaceVice President of Operations
With more than 14 years in office management, Alison Wallace joined Garrett & Robinson in August 2013 as Vice President of Operations. She oversees the day-to-day administration of the firm.

Alison assists each advisor in opening accounts, transferring of assets, completing payout requests and scheduling appointments. She always has a smile on her face and is glad to assist with prompt, top-notch service.

Alison previously operated Family Florist, Inc., for seven years as the business manager and floral designer. Then, Alison began her financial services career with CertusBank, where she worked for two years.

Alison was born and raised in Carroll County and is the daughter of Dennis and Sandy Barr of Carrollton. She graduated from Carrollton High School in 1998 and completed the Office Management program at West Central Technical College in 1999.

Alison is married to Jason Wallace and they have two children. Ivy Grace was born in March of 2003 and attends Carrollton Junior High School. Landon Barr was born in December 2010 and attends UWG Pre-K.

Alison and her family are active members of Stripling Chapel United Methodist Church.

In her free time you will find Alison at the ballfield. She will either be watching her daughter play fast pitch softball with the Thunder Chicks travel softball team or her son playing baseball. In the summer, Alison spends her weekends at her parents’ home on Lake Wedowee, where they enjoy boating and swimming.
